Translating a couple’s love for books and music into a stylish innovative and light-filled home in Brooklyn BFDO Architects completely revamped the interior of this gorgeous rowhouse.
Spatially the three different structures of the house contain three specialized areas with the edifice in the foreground housing the living area kitchen and other public spaces.
Stone wood and polished modern finishes are brought together effortlessly even as brilliant accent lighting puts the final touches on a family home that veers towards the natural. Steeping in gives you the impression of walking into a secluded serene and rejuvenating setting which is removed from urban rush.
The house has been arranged in two different planes with the lower level containing the living area kitchen and dining. A long covered corridor connects the central courtyard of the residence with the garden and provides a sheltered and illuminated walkway that feels magical.
The steel and glass roof of the terraces stands in contrast to the more stoic sight of concrete walls and ceiling of the living area kitchen and dining. One is soon left wondering whether one is indoors or outside thanks to the creative design that blurs traditional boundaries!
